When I Should’ve Stayed by Max Monroe

I am a huge Max Monroe fan and I’m going to be honest that I read and early copy of the book and had a really hard time getting through the first half. The story not only jumps back and forth in time in a way that is hard to follow, but is also dips in and out of different time periods of the first story in the series (which I loved).

Little by little we see why Josie divorced Clay when they both still loved each other, but every little reveal took too long, and when we finally got there, it didn’t make much sense for someone like Josie. I did keep reading until the end and was glad I did, but the book just wasn’t hitting the right notes with me.

Falling for a Grumpy Hero by Weston Parker

Well done story about two people with past trauma, but Ford having PTSD from a tragic event involving his unit in Afghanistan 10 years ago. The survivor guilt manifests itself many ways and we see Ford navigate that before and after he gets a new assistant at his engineering firm.

I enjoyed the early copy of the story I was given to read irrespective of the romance, but the romance was also top notch with the ebbs and flows of a troubled person learning how to heal and another person finding their one true love.

My Totally Unfair Deal by Whitney G

MY TOTALLY UNFAIR DEAL is a nod to “My Fair Lady” but done so clever that I couldn’t put it down. I was chuckling at Harrison from the first pages - you’ll love his unique occupation. I adored Eliza from the very start as a whip smart young woman that didn’t really need that much polish. She did need the opportunity to be part of Harrison’s life, however.

Has humor, spice and a guy unwillingly falling in love with his best friend’s sister. I wish I could read it again for the first time.

Porcelain Lies by Lisa Lovell

I knew there would be a cliffhanger, but I don’t have to like it. PORCELAIN LIES has it all - betrayal, jealousy, murder, secret lives, explosive reveals, and families torn apart. You’ll enjoy it.

King of Sinners by Tammy Andresen

I read this book after reading a few others in this series and the follow up series and I had an entirely different view of Mason until this book. It was fascinating how different he feels as a main character - more trustworthy, for example.

As with all the other books, this was entertaining and kept me up late while I had to see what would happen next.

The Mafia’s Quintuplets by Bella King

I got immersed in THE MAFIA’S QUINTUPLETS right from the start. The five baby thing was different, but what kept me turning the pages was the mafia part. We have a brooding hero that fell for a woman who could not accept the threat associated with being with him, so he had to do something about it.

King of Depravity by Tammy Andresen

It starts out stalkerish and descends into he falls first, hard and without any filters. Chloe seems an unlikely match making the story between an assassin and an innocent that gets swept up in his dangerous family business a real page turner.
