When we left Book 2, Gabriel has banished Alexis from his mansion and his life because of the betrayal that resulted in his arrest. He let her take Harry with her. I love how he tried to hate her but just couldn’t. He went to great lengths to watch and protect her even though he wouldn’t let her talk to him or see him.
Circumstances required Alexis and Harry to move back into the mansion for safety, but of course Gabriel and Alexis could not resist one another. He somehow had to answer the question “Can I ever trust her again?”
The danger, intrigue and adventure of the Belluci mafia’s war with The Cartel and Irish mafia was so well written. There was obviously a lot of thought out into how the many parts of this story tied together. It was a fantastic mafia romance and mafia story as well.
