This really is an amazing story with great romance and some original elements that made it really special. Deacon and Carys start well in the friend zone even though they both are strongly attracted to one another. There is jealousy, exes, and boundaries that after a time make them realize they want more than friendship.
But Carys has a baby daughter and while Deacon loves and cares for her, but he doesn’t think he’s good enough for them.
I really loved this story even when it made me cry, and it did - and not just for a couple pages. Penelope Ward has created another swoon worthy man and strong, independent woman that the reader falls in love with, too.
