A wonderful modern take on Romeo and Juliet. Winter Renshaw manages to infuse a melancholic atmosphere from the start by taking the most broken character, giving him the darkest intentions and ultimately the most noble traits.
I really enjoyed ENEMY DEAREST for the story, but also the quality of the writing. The young characters were so honest with their feelings so the annoying game playing and angst from that were absent. I don’t usually read novels with characters this age for that reason and this was a refreshing exception.
The epilogue was unexpected but I loved how it turned out for everyone. Read this book.
