PRETEND DATING MY BEST FRIEND has a nice twist on the friends to lovers trope. Roe was Shen’s ex- boyfriend’s best friend. When Steve and Shen broke up, Shen got “custody” of Roe. He shows his thoughtfulness and devotion to Shen but hides the real feelings he has had from the start.
The fake boyfriend part of the story has them e Teri g the fakehood for a good reason, but doesn’t take enough advantage of it perhaps everyone except them know they belong together.
What attracted me to this story was the fake dating app profile Shen set up to play a trick on Roe. His reaction really surprised me, too. Both characters are so like-able, well written and devoted to one another even as friends. You will want to block off some time to let yourself become immersed in this story.
