Rhett Jameson is the GRUMPY COWBOY, a smoking hot single dad that hits all the single dad high points with his unconditional love for his sassy little girl. He has all that tough guy cowboy stuff down, too, so when he badly injured his knee, his father thinks the only way to get him to rehab it properly is bring in a full time doctor for a few months - and that would be “city girl” Leah Levee.
This book is fun because of the persistence of Dr. Leah to treat her patient, and her patient’s persistence in avoiding her efforts and ignoring her help. It turns into a really sweet romance, if not somewhat tortured from the slow burn. It is also particularly poignant because of the little girl Joey that takes to Leah better than her own mother who has no interest in her. So, there is just enough conflict and angst to keep the reader rooting for that happy ending.
