One of the best things about Ainsley St. Claires’ characters is that you remember them from book to book without much reminder. Many of the women in the Stiletto series came from the Clear Security or Tech Billionaires series, and we are still following those same characters that were devastated by Cecelia’s murder.
The additions to the case in Ryder and Logan’s story, HAPPY HOUR, were totally unexpected and so clever. Not only do we continue to be part of all the relationships that have formed, but the new characters have important and unforgettable roles.
As with all the Stiletto series books, the talk is ribald and the relationship steamy. Ryder is a little too clinical about her physical needs at first. Then Logan arrives on the scene with his mysterious background, well placed piercings, and skills to match putting Ryder off her “love ‘em and leave ‘em” game. I didn’t like Ryder, at first, but Logan was good for her and vice versa.
So the plot surrounding Cecelia’s murder continues with all new leads and surprise encounters that make me ready for the next (and I believe last) book in the series.
