The story has a lot of potential. There was something rather awkward about the whole thing between Ava and Garland. Garland was so inconsistent it was hard to decide what I felt about him. His attention to Ava went from zero to sixty without developing much in the way of feels.
Ava came off to me as too immature at times. What grown woman calls her parents Mumsy and Pop Pop? She initially appears business-like but then lacks the skills to be convincing in that role.
This story could be a lot more appealing with better character development, in my opinion.
