I have read most of the Carolina Reapers books but never thought much about the owner. Then ASHER comes a long introducing a group of young billionaire professional team owners that are friends but also have a really over the top (in wagers) poker game each month. Learning about the guys, their adventures and interesting wagering was half the fun of the book.
But the real story was Asher and Daisy’s romance, and it was one with tension that had to give, and when it did, it was explosive.
It is an opposites attract trope. While Asher and Daisy are opposites in many ways, they are appreciative enough of each others’ individuality that it really works for them - until a monkey wrench gets thrown into the works and you’ll just have to read the book to see what happens.
It is well written, great pacing, plenty of steam and plenty of quality moments that build relationships.
