Case is the older guy, sort of boss, grump and who suddenly invites himself on a work trip with Jillian. Jillian is the funniest kind of hot mess that takes just the right guy to smile at her indulgently and rub her back during her “crazies”. In A HOLLY JILLY CHRISTMAS, she has the most entertaining internal dialogue.
The story is told from Jillian’s POV, and as a reader we are along with her for this tide of trying to figure out what’s going on in Case’s head. We are just as confused as she is. Is he her colleague? Her boss? A company spy? A friend? Competitor? Why did he come to Sheet Cake, TX with her?
It’s a fun and swoony time figuring it out. It’s such a romantic story, too. I really enjoyed it.
