I liked the characters in QUINTESSENTIALLY THE ONE, and as much as I hate needless drama, things just went too smoothly, if that makes sense. The second chance secret baby should evoke at least a little angst or resentment, but Dax was so forgiving and Kandace was, too.
I think this is matter of personal taste because the book was romantic, the child sweet, the family and friends supportive - a little dust up somewhere might have spiced things up a touch.
