I liked the overall story but in VERY BAD THINGS, I did not quite connect with the characters or “feel” the romance. Weston is the grump here, but there’s a fine line between a grumpy guy and just plain rude. A grumpy guy’s heart is in there, and being mean to be mean doesn’t fit that concept.
But Daphne was no prize, either. She was pretty inconsistent, but my issue with her was how little self respect she had. “Very bad things” between adults is fine, but somehow this relationship felt a little creepy at times.
