Gerald is one very dark character. The whole book had this gripping and ominous feel to it and I loved it. Cara was so innocent like a blank slate and Gerald wrote all over that blank slate every chance he got.
The suspense mostly tied to peeling away Gerald’s layers was what really kept me reading. It was a guilty pleasure liking his character so much. The club atmosphere added to the decadence. I am looking forward to the other two books in the series.
