Revenge brings both Max and Billie to get involved with one another after knowing one another in high school and having a fated encounter following the last day of school.
Both are prepared to use the other, hide their hateful feelings and motives, and sacrifice whatever is necessary to meet their end. Max as a Bratva leader has to choose his actions based on what is best for the organization and his brother’s safety. Billie made her choice based on past knowledge and self preservation. A violent end is inevitable.
The gradual but enthralling transformation of each character until the culminating scene at the end of Book 1 has me eager to find out what happens next.
Sasha Leone has excelled at making these characters change so much before our very eyes leaving us hoping for a different outcome than we wanted at the beginning of the book.
