I enjoyed reading THE RIVALS mostly for Weston. He was funny, romantic, and naughty. His possessive streak was particularly appealing as were the other things in his life that had left him vulnerable and how he learned what he needed to accept them.
Sophia is the product of her insecurities but she always found the strength to be true to herself. She didn’t take any nonsense as a woman or as a business woman. She had zero ability to resist Weston’s charm and “talents”.
Vi Keeland takes on a couple of difficult issues in this story and does so in a way that lessens the stigma and focuses on the healing without being “preachy” about the issue.
