This was an important book for the Oil Kings series since it introduces all the main characters for the next few novels by telling the story of Gentry King’s second chance at love.
What I liked most about the story was how Gentry and Kendall’s relationship blossomed during the snowstorm power outage. Gentry remained the perfect gentleman despite the temptation. The used the time to truly get to know one another.
This is a book you will love if you are big on families. It doesn’t gloss over the challenges of being accepted by adult children. I loved it when Gentry stood up for Kendall despite the negative reaction from his family. I look forward to reading the next book in the series especially since Beck seemed to be the son with the most animosity toward his father.
