What we have here is a best friend’s little sister, boss/employee and fake relationship romance that will catch your interest from the start. It will soon have your undivided attention while you swoon at the charm of Jack Montgomery along with half the San Francisco population.
While he’s turning heads wherever he goes he runs a print daily and has hired his best friend’s sister Monroe to be a lifestyle and political reporter. They both believe Monroe’s brother would react negatively to Jack “taking liberties” with Monroe since he’s had a playboy reputation.
The story has intrigue, jealousy, the holidays, the skanky co-worker and a hero that falls pretty hard with a heroine that doesn’t trust her feelings or his.
The slow burn included several steamy encounters of the second and third base varieties. Jack is an ideal man - sweet, funny, loving, honest, ripped and skilled in the carnal arts. Monroe is smart, sassy, devoted, loyal, and loves family. We all breathed a sigh of relief when all the story lines tied up so nicely. The good story organization and witty dialogue - especially between Jack and his brothers - are a credit to the fine writing of Laura Pavlov of whom I will need to read more.
