Is HARD TIMES a conventional ménage romance? No. Is it over the top? Yes. And I really enjoyed it. Nothing says “sweet love” like a pair of escaped cons kidnapping the female officer transporting them.
I liked how Hunter and Ryker were portrayed as being protective and caring for the woman they eventually were going to kill. There weren’t behaving like cavemen (too much) and seemed genuinely offended when Annie tried to do something to save herself.
If you like steamy, protective men and a woman that can’t help herself falling for them despite their pasts, you will want to spend a short time escaping with the novella, HARD TIMES.
