SHORTCAKE is one of those books that grabs you from the very first scene and never lets go. Addy and Conrad have a no-names super swoony two-night stand and then go off to their regular lives.
Three years later they meet again under unlikely circumstances that sets the wheels in motion for a funny, heartfelt and romantic story of a older, devoted and steadfast single dad and a remarkably astute, fun and feisty single woman. This is one of those stories that makes one sigh deeply at the rightness of the union despite the inept efforts to sabotage it.
I really enjoyed this story and would gladly read any other book in the series.
