In FAKING IT WITH MY BEST FRIEND, Ryn is a character with a dry, slightly irreverent humor (needed in this small town). She is genuine and her friendship with Gabe is legendary in town. In fact everyone is pushing them to be “more”.
Gabe is the sweet, gentlemanly best friend. He goes with whatever Ryn seems to going. He’s supportive and protective of her. We get treated to some jealous moments (my favorites) and more of the quirky overarching stories from book 1 that are sufficiently explained if you didn’t read book 1.
It did start off kind of slow, but I kept with it and decide it was a good story overall.
