DAK by Lisa Lang Blakeney

DAK starts off with an iconic football situation and becomes a story of learning to deal with tragedy and disappointment.  The Nighthawks send DAK to required therapy, and Katrina is the therapist.

I liked the story for its human imperfections.  Katrina especially had as many issues to conquer as Dak, yet never lost what made her so effective.

The forbidden nature of the therapist/client having a relationship was a little hard for me.  So was Katrina being taken advantage of by someone she should have been able to trust.
