This is the first book in a series about 5 brothers the run the family’s billion dollar company together. Book 1 is about Royce, the oldest.
Royce is the one with many layers in this story (as we are often reminded). When Sawyer sits next to him on a flight and freaks out about flying, he abandons his first instinct to feign sleep and helps keep her calm instead.
Their paths cross again since Sawyer was fluting to her new job - working for Royce and his brothers. Royce is showing signs of possessiveness and ill temper over what he feels is now forbidden - and the dance begins...
I liked the story a lot and ready it straight through because many of the encounters between Royce and Sawyer were romantic and built trust. The both got on my nerves a bit. Sawyer because she acted so timid and insecure at times, and Royce because he over reacted in situations you’ll have to find out by reading the book.
Another thing you will be wondering as you read the book is who is this woman from Royce’s past whose name can’t be spoken, and what happened between them? You will never guess, do read LAYER BY LAYER to find out more.
