Good mafia story that sets the stage for the series by introducing us to the Kilpatrick brothers of the Irish mafia and their intertwined lives as emerging leaders of The Family of mafias as well as their enemies. This mafia family storyline seems like it will carry over into the other books in the series.
Elisa, the Italian princess is acquired by Aidan to exact revenge for what his father has done to his family, They have a roller coaster relationship, but a passionate one, as well. Their romance is wrapped up by the end of the book.
As a dark mafia romance, it hits all the high notes - a nightclub with strippers, torturing with various devices for information, senseless carnage, people tied to chairs, exploding cars and warehouses, and a far too large, but well fortified mansion. If you like your steam with a little bit of “wet work”, you’ll enjoy this book.
