We met Kyle in an earlier book while he was in prison and Jordan was visiting him while being involved with undercover FBI agent Nick. This story, though, starts well before Kyle’s image became tarnished. Both Kyle and Rylann met briefly one night in college, lived their lives for 9 years, then crossed paths again.
There are so many good parts in this story with Rylann making her name in the new US Attorney office she’s assigned to, Kyle trying to redeem himself, Dex opening a new nightclub, and Kyle and Rylann trying to have a romance between an ex-con and AUSA.
There’s passion and just the right amount of conflict to keep one reading. I liked Kyle a lot more than when we first met him. It’s a great addition to the series.
