REAL FAKE LOVE brings quirky to a new level. Henrietta Bacon, paranormal romance novelist, is being left at the altar for the 5th time. Luca, professional baseball player, has a little secret of the wedding variety, too. In fact, Luca is all about secret - what goes on in his head making him feel he’s broken when it comes to love.
So, we have a grumpy-sunshine forced proximity, fake relationship sports romance peppered with a few curses certain to mess up a guy’s perspective on love. But the secondary cast really pulls its weight, too. Luca’s Nona, Henri’s cat Dogzilla, the WAGs of the Copper Valley Fireballs, and the guys on the team.
I loved the book for Henri’s mind, Luca’s body and Dogzilla’s fashion sense. It’s funny but also poignant. It’s two people that really thought they knew what love was until they found one another.
