TOXIC is a different type of second chance romance because it is not only a second chance at a first love between Dante and Bridget, but their struggles last years. Dante’s love for Bridget is unwavering. She loses trust in him and leaves him for life without him in Chicago.
Their brief encounters through the years, Dante’s love for her children and his singlemindedness where she is concerned makes for an epic bought of unrequited love.
When tragedy strikes and Bridget returns, Dante is there. She won’t let herself tell him her awful secrets and that drives the drama throughout the story. When Bridget achieved a sense of peace, the only person happier with the outcome than Dante was me.
It’s a good start to the series.
