A VERY NAUGHTY CHRISTMAS has three stories that can be read as standalones, but are connected by the relationship between three young women: Grace, Hope and Inez
In the first story, lifelong childhood friends Grace and Hope find their relationship strained when Grace and Hope’s widowed father reconnect and are still smitten with one another.
In the second story, Hope’s daughter was conceived during a one night stand with a contemporary of her father’s. He didn’t know about the baby and continuously graced the pages of the tabloids for his relationships. He wants to come to know his daughter.
The third story is Inez who was nanny to twins belonging to Hope’s boss, Natalie. Natalie’s brother Cole and Inez meet for this very good story.
The timelines on the stories overlap and are cleverly done. There are a number of characters to keep track of, but the author writes characters that stand out and this makes them so memorable. Good book of integrated novellas for the holidays.
