What made me want to read this is the implication Cillian saves his enemy’s daughter from a marriage auction. I’m thinking: I bet he’s going to marry her even though it must be hard to trust the daughter of your enemy.
Odette is a first, smart young woman. She could easily have been broken by an abusive father, but now we get to see if she was fortunate to be bought by Cillian or will either come to regret it.
