The story is good, the romance is good, but I kept putting the book aside because I was so tired of being reminded over and over that: Max is Gia’s godfather, her brother’s best friend, the guy his mother asked to protect her, and he was 17 or so years older than she was. Why do author’s feel they have to keep drumming the tropes into every aspect of the story? We get it! Please stop ruining good stories with this relentless repetition.
