The Mafia’s Quintuplets by Bella King

I got immersed in THE MAFIA’S QUINTUPLETS right from the start. The five baby thing was different, but what kept me turning the pages was the mafia part. We have a brooding hero that fell for a woman who could not accept the threat associated with being with him, so he had to do something about it.

Babies for the Mafia Boss by Bella King

BABIES FOR THE MAFIA BOSS has the kidnappings, beatings, gunshots to the head, family betrayal and rival mafia wars, but with an interesting and entertaining twist.

It all revolves around Wilde, the ex-con who served times for killing a man - you’ll find out why, too.  But Wilde is...wild.  He’s irreverent, bossy, arrogant and at times quite funny.  He seems afraid of nothing but smart enough to know when it is better to retreat temporarily than take a stand.

Pixie thought he’d be in prison forever for killing someone so she didn’t tell him about their twin boys and expected to have to move on without him until they met up by chance in Italy.

I found myself smiling often at Wilde’s attitude and approach to seeing Pixie again while taking care of his mafia business in Italy.  You will find this book an interesting departure from usual dark mafia with having such a charmer for the “boss”.

Wife for the Russian Boss by Bella King

What’s not to love about an older man mafia boss, younger woman arranged marriage to unite two mafia families? This is the kind of book with the strong protective hero and innocent, playful heroine.  She knows what the mafia life means and has not been protected from the worst of it following the massacre of father and many of his men.

Most of the book has Vas and August together and I say that because usually in a mafia book we hear about all the other leadership people, the consigliere, the guards, etc.  Another thing that was really different is that this was the Russian mafia in Minnesota.  That’s a new mafia stronghold.

The book is hot. Vas becomes besotted with his young wife very quickly.  She is up to the task of being a mafia wife without complaining about people getting shot with guns, arrows or what not.

Baby for the Russian Boss by Bella King

The story is good but the delivery a little rough.  The characters were appealing.  When they interacted it was confusing at times.  A person would not indicate any concern or interest for the other, then they would suddenly have their emotions involved.

I think many of my concerns with the story are with editing.  I could tell things were left out and then referred to later as if they weren’t.

So, while somewhat OTT, I did enjoy the story quite a bit but these things were noticeable.

Mafia Puppet: A French Mafia Romance by Bella King

Not your usual dark mafia story!  Pierre and Shaye have both been away from the mafia.  Shaye is trying to live a normal life as an art appraiser and Pierre’s French mafia dismantled while he was in prison.

This was such a good story with a different feel to it than most mafia stories.  It had fights, broken noses, shootings and various deaths, but they were for self preservation rather than getting information or settling a debt.

Pierre planned to use Shaye as a means to an end.  He hadn’t counted on liking her.  Shaye was originally repulsed by Pierre, but not for long and definitely not once he was shirtless.  They have great chemistry even when they don’t get along.

I thought the story started a little slow because it was a different mood.  Dark things happened, but it wasn’t really dark overall.  It was really refreshing and entertaining to read.

Captive Sin by Bella King

I enjoyed reading CAPTIVE SIN because it was so different from the usual mafia romances.  The hot mafia bad boy and beautiful young woman with the abusive father were all there, but it started out like an old favorite story, the Ransom of Red Chief.

You can’t help but smile at Sonia.  Whether it’s her conversation or her antics, she is funny and she sets the whole story on its end.

Ivan figures her out quickly enough but soon the story takes off in another unexpected direction - several times  There was a lot of action and danger.  It is just a really neat book to read.

Wedding Sin by Bella King

I’ve read a lot of dark mafia romances, and many of those by Bella King, but WEDDING SIN is a refreshing take in the genre.  What makes it unique is it seems a more realistic take on the life of a crime lord.  It contrasts rather than glamorizes the ugly world a criminal knows compared to the privileged vanilla world his wife was part of.

Kazimir will seem very gritty and rude toward his new wife, not caring what unsavory trappings of his world he exposes her to and even encourages her to partake.  She is completely naive - and worse than that, believes she’s not naive.  If you can read this without thinking at least once “No, don’t do that!”, I would be surprised.

So read WEDDING SIN to experience a different kind of darkness and grittiness of an underworld romance.

Claimed for Life by Bella King

CLAIMED FOR LIFE is one of the most action packed dark mafia romances I have read.  Carter and Honey’s marriage of convenience to unite their two mafia families becomes much more than the business arrangement they were counting on.

The passion is steamy and Carter finds he has more than met his match in his mafia raised woman.  Honey shows herself to be the kind of woman that can escape through the desert by herself and stand beside her mafia husband.  Time really flies while reading this book.

One Night In Russia by Bella King

From the first page, this story is full of action, suspense and romance.  There is truly never a dull moment in “One Night In Russia”.

At first, I was a little disappointed in Nikolai.  He seemed like a “one and done” kind of guy after his first night with Elaine.

Elaine seemed level headed and traveled to Russia for some adventure while contemplating her next book.  When she met Nikolai it was for a one night stand but, she thought she might like a little more.

One a rival mafia ramps things up, Nikolai feels the need to get Elaine and protect her.  Once she is under his roof, they both start thinking differently about each other despite Nikolai’s dangerous bratva duties.  If you love action packed bratva romances, you need to read this one.
