JUST BETWEEN US is a spicy romance without much game playing before Veda and Royal given in to their attraction. That’s partly because they met in an interesting way that adds an even spicier twist to the story.
The intrigue in this series continues but is easy to follow if this is the first you are going to get to read. I like that this is an interconnected series that doesn’t overwhelm us with characters.
JUST THIS ONCE is a fairly typical series based on a family of siblings, rough upbringing in some way, and the added quirk of a long standing feud with another local family.
The firefighter and the teacher/boss’s daughter are a good match up. We get a hint of suspense toward the end that has leaves a few intriguing things unresolved, but the romance gets its HEA.
I loved this story of the reformed bad boy and the good girl that everyone but them saw they belonged together. ONE CHANCE continues the Sullivan-King mystery of the origin of their great feud. It is an immersion in family, found family and small town life.
What I liked about ONE TOUCH is the historical renovation angle and the enemies to lovers romance between Kate and Beckett. We get a little more information on the source for the deep seated Sullivan-King feud with a mystery uncovered during the renovation.
I’m from the general area the story is taking place and know some of that local history, too.
I loved reading ONE LOOK and it made me want to get the next book right now. It isn’t a cliffhanger, but the people in Lark and Wyatt’s family and the small town in Michigan lend itself to more stories.
In this one, Lark has the oddest profession that puts her at a funeral where she catches Wyatt’s eye. He is a college football coach spending the summer with three of his players living with him and his daughter. He hires Lark to be his assistant even though he knows he won’t be able to resist her.
And resist her, he doesn’t. She is the sunshine to his grump. The young men Wyatt is mentoring and his daughter adore her. His family considers her one of them, but it’s only going to be for the summer. Wyatt has pursued his dream in football. Will Lark pursue hers?
