Naughty-ish by L. B. Dunbar

NAUGHTY-ISH is cute, funny and spicy but is also has a message.  Throughout the story, Christmas favorites like “A Visit From St. Nick” and Christmas songs are seamlessly woven into the plot.  Nick is nothing short of a unicorn, and Holliday someone that needs to reclaim life for herself and her children.  I really enjoyed Holliday’s humor and Nick’s depth.

<strong>Poignant</strong>

Christmas is another day for Eva.  There is no one to celebrate with her.  There are bad memories of past Christmases.  So she works.

Zebb and Eva meet again at a high school reunion over the holiday and get ready to swoon.  Are there really guys out there like Zebb?  He treats Eva like something precious and lets her know it.  She, however, is trapped in morose events from the past.

In SCROOGE-ISH, as the secrets trickle out I get less frustrated with Eva for being so cautious about letting Zebb in.  At 40, they’ve both had disappointments and tragedies in their lives.  The moment Eva finally sheds her past is worth the wait.
