Teach Me The Ropes by Vanessa Vale

TEACH ME THE ROPES is a good OTT Instalove romance. I liked the story, but the characters were pretty shallow - I mean, the whole book covers something like two days.

It’s a book to read when you are looking for something quick and spicy.

The Lawman by Vanessa Vale

THE LAWMAN is going to appeal to you if you are looking for a quick steamy story with a mail order bride with secrets and her husband with particular tastes.

I enjoyed the story although it’s not going to be memorable primarily for the plot.

Montana Fire by Vanessa Vale

MONTANA FIRE was full of humor, suspense and smoldering romance.  I really liked the way the kids were portrayed.  They were funny-real not precocious.  Jane was a boy-mom doing her best to love them and wear them out each day.

Ty gets poor marks for communication but makes up for it in how he cares for Jane and other swoon worthy skills.  The suspense part of the story is topical and done well, but the romance and family are what kept me reading.

Man Splain by Vanessa Vale

MAN SPLAIN is a good story about Steaming Hotties coffee shop owner Eve, and the CEO of the James hotels, Silas. Eve is being forced into an arranged marriage and Silas trying to close a big hotel deal.

Eve has some creative ways to get capital for her coffee shop, and Silas wants to help her but she wants to do it on her own.  She’s a really strong female character not afraid to say what she wants.

Silas is in a different country every few days.  He’s tired of it.  I liked him as a character because he had wealth,  it didn’t flaunt it.  Together they have fierce chemistry and it makes for a good story.

Man Hunt by Vanessa Vale

The book had a young voice despite Maverick’s age.  I like that his first impression of Bridget left him gobsmacked and that he was impressed as much by her intelligence as natural beauty.

Bridget made quite the transformation in the book.  She starts out lacking confidence for reasons that don’t get totally resolved in this book.  Between her issues and Mav’s rather unexpected ones, there is plenty of conflict and maybe some shaky ways of dealing with it.

As a series starter, we meet Maverick’s brothers and Bridget’s sister and BF as what look like characters in subsequent stories.  The only thing I didn’t like is how there still seems to be an unresolved issue with this MAN HUNT.
