Rulebreaker Boss by Ali Parker

Derrick hires Brianna to be his paralegal right as she arrives in NYC with her son Avery. We immediately get the feeling she left her life in California abruptly and with some urgency.

RULEBREAKER BOSS is a page turner when it comes to the reason Brianna left California. The “he falls first” bug hits Derrick early and he steps up to be the guy Brianna never had. Brianna has a few “Girl?” moments of dubious judgment and weak rationalization. Will she snap out of it before it’s too late?

I liked the suspense element of the story as well as the secondary characters - the guys Derrick co-owns a company with, for example. If you like the guy friends giving each other a hard time, you won’t be disappointed.

You’ve Got To Be Kidding by Ali Parker

The meet cute in YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING is memorable and it still gets a chuckle out of me when Maverick puts a name to it.  It’s a wedding one night stand with consequences.

The path the story takes is fairly typical for the trope.  The conflict is on Penny.  The solution arrives in a roundabout, yet HEA way.

Ladies’ Man Exposed by Ali Parker

I liked LADIES’ MAN EXPOSED because it was one of the good girl tames bad boy kind of stories.  Sebastian admittedly was a one-and-doner many times over.  When he met Melody she turned the tables on him and he got the first taste of his own medicine.

The couple navigates involvement at work, butts heads with family, and has encounters with the ex that make the story that much more interesting.

Bad Boy Bachelor Valentine by Ali Parker and Weston Parker

What drew me to read this book was a Valentine matchmaking cruise.  Juliet has the professional matchmaking business and Hart is a male supermodel that is looking for a date to an event he will get a major award.

But the book disappointed me.  Too many things did not make sense like going on a month long cruise to get a match for a date to one event.  Also, Hart was not a “Bad Boy”.  He was thoughtful, a bit introverted, and kind when he could have been unkind. Finally, if I had to evaluate Juliet’s business, she would get low marks for her matches and for who she thought would be suitable for the cruise.

The overall premise of the story was right up my alley, but I felt it fell short in how it was delivered.

Bad Boy Bachelor Christmas by Ali Parker and Weston Parker

I read a lot of Christmas romances so I have no trouble saying BAD BOY BACHELOR CHRISTMAS is a stand out.

The story is unique.  There’s a tree farm, but it is a high end specialty tree farm that doesn’t just supply the tree. Interior decorator intern, Winter, designs and decorated the trees. She’s in Maple Hill for a month.

North is the grumpy tree farm owner.  He is annoyed with Winter’s chatter.  His conversation consists of one word answers.  He loves his family business and it has made him a billionaire (from trees??).

So we have the attraction between Winter and North right out of the gate.  Winter is ready to rumble but North is going through some things.  Combine the banter between these two with the snarky best friends and you have a humorous and at times poignant romance with the perfect holiday backdrop.

Parker’ Handsome Holiday Box Set by Weston and Ali Parker

What better way to have a collection of quality holiday romances than with a box set like this one?  I have read several of the stories but would say Bad Boy Bachelor Claus is one of my favorites.

Naughty Santa Claus in a tailored velvet suit was the perfect kind of characterization for a steamy boss/employee romance for the holidays.  “Tinsel” and Chad were a fun couple.  I enjoyed the story as much as the romance.

My Fake Fling by Ali Parker

 MY FAKE FLING is one of those second chance romances that happen long after the moment one of the two people messed up and ruined the best thing they ever had.

In this case, Reese wins the award for one of the worst break ups with Thea a decade ago.  He went down the road to luxury joining his father with real estate ventures that included building towers and designing new neighborhoods.  Thea opened her animal shelter and took in and adopted out animals of all kinds.

The story is rich in subplots.  Their reunion starts out as fake dating.  At the same time, they are both dealing with family issues with their fathers, and with Thea’s brother. It’s not just buildings and animals - there is mystery, danger, threats, thugs, and steamy romance.

I read through this quickly, as it kept me so entertained,  I am glad to have received an advance copy of the book from the author from which zi wrote this review.

Bad Boy Bachelor Summer by Weston Parker and Ali Parker

As the newest entry in the Bad Boy Collection, BAD BOY BACHELOR SUMMER is a wonderful distraction as Andy and Rick find themselves at the summer cabin they spent many childhood hours at, with Andy brother (Rick’s best friend) and his girlfriend.

It is a story where keeping secrets until “the right time” predictably comes to bite someone in the rear.  The romance between Andy and Rick has been simmering since their teen years do it is no surprise after that the slow burn ignites with all sorts of consequences.

It is a book in a relaxing outdoor setting that makes the reader want to be there.  It is a nice break summer story.

Bad Boy Bachelor Bunny by Ali Parker and Weston Parker

An Easter romance featuring a chocolatier that makes foil wrapped Easter bunnies?  So be ready for something a little different in BAD BOY BACHELOR BUNNY - like it takes place in South Africa, too.

Kaya is tough, sarcastic and knows what she wants.  On the other hand, Cassian lives at home, doesn’t work at picks a different woman every time he goes out to a nightclub (often). His father sends him to South Africa to pick up a shipment of special cocoa beans.  They meet when Kaya is assigned to be his guide in the African grassland and jungle.

I like this story because of the strong, independent and competent woman that runs circles around the men in times of danger. She doesn’t wring her hands and give herself negative thoughts even though she’s had some tough times.

I had higher hopes for Cassian, though.  Let’s just say I didn’t think he was good enough for Kayla in the time they knew one another.  Read the book and see if you agree.  I don’t have to love the characters for it to be a good book.

Bad Boy Bachelor Cupid by Ali Parker

A billionaire, bad boy and model-hot bachelor is the perfect recipe for a Naughty Cupid.  Storm is all of these the new owner of an everyone size lingerie company.  Laila is one of the top models and a dedicated career woman who turns heads wherever she goes.

As the story goes, Storm wants to take the company inherited from his late father into the future but is still being burdened by his father’s ghost in the form of annoying, archaic board members.  Some of my favorite parts of the book are when Storm starts to see his vision and puts the company dinosaur in his place.

Storm meeting Laila at this crucial time for his company makes him see what is important and why.  Laila finds herself seeing Storm as few others see him. Storm decides Laila is worth taking his time getting to know and when the romance is tested, the time taken really mattered.

I really enjoyed this story that has a lot going on keeping it interesting, passionate and full of the connections that define family.  I received an advance copy of the book to read and from that I am providing my voluntary review.

Fixing the Future by Ali Parker

I got off to a slow start thinking the title was “Fixing the Furniture” and I’m waiting for the furniture part to kick in.

And it doesn’t, because it makes much more sense to call it “FIXING THE FUTURE” with Christopher still affected by the passing of his wife 10 years ago leaving him to raise their daughter alone.

I liked the story for the single dad trope and the events that take place as Chris tries to get back into dating.  The daughter is adorable, the grandmother meddling and mouthy and Juliette was working for me until she did a few things in a not so nice way.  She entitled to a few mistakes, so I’ll overlook it and say she’s a pretty good character, too.

Wine Wanderer by Ali Parker and Jessica Mills

I wasn’t sure what to expect because I haven’t read other books in the series.  The blurb really gripped me, and I liked the story about the preacher’s daughter and the older, hot, bar owner she was going to work for to get money to get away from her oppressive lifestyle.

It had the jealousy, possessiveness amid the focus on family that was everywhere in the story.  Stolen kisses, rowdy bar patrons and church on Sunday added those elements of conflict that kept me reading the story.

Having said that, there are a lot of people to keep track of in this book.  Relatives, in-laws, friends, secondary characters, etc.  With this being the only book I have read, it was a lot to keep track of but worthwhile to become immersed in the series.

The Billionaire’s Unexpected Wife book 3 by Ali Parker

THE BILLIONAIRE’S UNEXPECTED WIFE BOOK 3 was about the end to a fairy tale Roman e neither Amaya nor Kristo had ever imagined for themselves.  Amaya certainly had never imagined finding a man that would love having her sister live with them.  Kristo never imagined love would even find him after his belief that he wasn’t able to know true love.

All three parts made a wonderful story together and I wondered more than once why it was not all in a single book.

The Billionaire’s Unexpected Wife, book 2 by Ali Parker

Once again, a shocking cliffhanger ends book 2 of THE BILLIONAIRE’S UNEXPECTED WIFE compels us to make our way to book 3 despite all other worldly obligations.

Amaya and her sister Jolene have had a family void filled with Kristo’s family and they all love Amaya and Jolene, too.  Kristo refuse to acknowledge he is capable of living someone after watching his father’s abysmal attempts at finding a wife.  Amaya has decided to make the best of any time she has remaining with Kristo until the shocking state is revealed at the end of the book.

The Billionaire’s Unexpected Wife book 1, by Ali Parker

First, the cliffhanger was unexpected and a great impetus to read book 2.

So the “unexpected wedding” of Kristo and Amaya was fairly typical as were Kristo’s reasons for staying married for a year.  What was strange was Amaya’s behavior near the end of the book.  Not mysterious strange, but “what are you doing, girl?” strange.

Read the book to see what I’m talking about.  Meanwhile, I’ll be up late reading book 2.

My Last Love Affair by Ali Parker

The story is an emotional rollercoaster with many ups and downs and you will be surprised at who cause the most drama in MY LAST LOVE AFFAIR.

Both Grayson and Hannah are CEOs and have the driven personalities that come with that.  They enter into a fake relationship agreement because Grayson requires an heir to inherit his family company and Hannah needs a buyer to keep her company afloat.

Our couple excels in the carnal arts from words to deeds.  It’s everything else that doesn’t work quite so smoothly.  Without revealing the best parts of the plot, I can safely say I was as disappointed in Grayson as Hannah was, and as frustrated with Hannah as Grayson was.  There was no shortage of well meaning friends (and stellar secondary characters) to keep figuratively ‘smacking them up along side the head’ but these two were headstrong, stubborn, driven, devoted and passionate about what mattered most to them.

Tissues?  Yes.  Enjoy the story.
