Christmas Cupid by Ilsa Madden-Mills
CHRISTMAS CUPID combines forced proximity, best friend’s sister, hockey player, one bed, and a touch of second chance romance in one holiday themed story. There is not any hockey games - just references to teammates and hockey player physique. Kyler seems to share that with ease. He travels without Jack Daniels and beer, but no food or change of clothes.
Kyler and Iris both appear to have been asked to fill in for her brother at a vacation rental. Angry sparks fly and then a different kind of sparks fly. It’s an entertaining book.

The Princess and the Player by Ilsa Madden-Mills
I have been waiting for PRINCESS AND THE PLAYER to come out and I really loved the book. Nothing could tear me away from Francesca’s mysterious beginnings and Tuck’s more tragic ones being played out in such a clever way.
Francesca is certainly a favorite as a female MC. Resilient, honest and the kind of partner Tuck never knew he needed. The time their paths cross and they actually meet one another is explosive in so many ways. Their acquired family rounds out an entertaining group of people yet the story never completely loses a veil of darkness or melancholy.
There is so much going on in this story that kept my interest but it is the passion and emotion Tuck and Francesca hold for one another that kept me turning the pages. It is a really good story and I’m glad I read it.

The Beauty And The Baller by Ilsa Madden-Mills
What makes this such a good book is it is filled with emotion right from the start - grief, joy, passion, jealousy, etc. The author is very skilled at drawing out these emotions.
Both main characters pull at the heartstrings - sometimes due to individual tragedies and sometimes as a couple. The secondary characters were excellent for adding some spicy conflict or side story.
One of the boys in a class at the high school modeled one lesson from the story - you never know what someone else is dealing with in their life and these things don’t effect everyone the same way.

Not My Match by Ilsa Madden-Mills
Whoa! Great story. I think Giselle is one of my favorite female characters. So funny, smart, unconventional, kind - a beautiful person. Devon - so hot, tough, so guarded, possessive and so helpless when it came to Giselle. I’m a science person, so I loved it even more because of not shying away from topics that many people are afraid will be too hard to think about.
But within this really wonderful romance with Devon and Giselle are characters I need to know end up okay, too. Aiden, Mike, Robert, Mama, Myrtle, Garrett and Topher, to name a few. One of my indicators of a really good book is you don’t even notice how many extra people are because they are so integral to the story. And you remember them as well as the so-called main characters.
I hope there are other books in the series and each treats us to dinner and grace at Mama’s.

Not My Romeo by Ilsa Madden-Mills
Jack and Elena’s story is passionate and often filled with longing. Past misdeeds have made it difficult to trust themselves in giving their heart away. Jack ha had many episodes in his life making live a difficult thing for him.
I enjoyed the book because Elena is so real. She’s loyal, giving, smart and beautiful. I liked that she would not compromise her principles. Her honesty was refreshing. She didn’t play games. She’d been hurt before by a boyfriend and protected her heart.
Jack was famous so people tried to make money off of their connection to him, telling stories whether true or not. The number of special things Jack did out of the goodness of his heart and never told people about showed he was a good man.
