I enjoyed INDISCRETION from the very first page. Upon reflection, there is a whole lot going on in this story. It’s hard to believe all that we learn about Naomi and Dawson. The story just seems to fly by while at the same time covering such huge life events and the increments of life lived surviving them.
Read it for the story and for the romance.
I am so glad I read SOMETHING UNEXPECTED. I usually wait when Vi Keeland releases a new book because I know I will be disappointed that I can’t read it for the first time again.
But this time I jumped right in and I hate to be cliche, but it wasn’t what I expected. Yes, it was funny, original, romantic, steamy and heartbreaking all at the same time. But it also was so thought provoking and forces the reader to think about their lives and their loves.
There wasn’t a dry eye to be had after spending my evening with these wonderful characters. Excellent book.
I haven’t read a book by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward that wasn’t a good book, so as soon as THE RULES OF DATING MY BEST FRIEND’S SISTER came out, I was pushing all my other books aside to read it.
I really enjoyed the depth of the Holden character. It was mostly his voice that I heard in this story. He had his outside persona that made everyone wary of him, but his inner persona is the one that needed to be wrapped in a hug.
Lala has her brother’s friends looking out for her. She has a fiancé, a career in scientific research, and couldn’t be more different than Holden in most ways, except the most important one.
Christian is the pro quarterback smitten with Bella, the unexpected owner of his football team in THE GAME. My favorite part of the book was Christian’s unabashed attraction and devotion to Bella even while she struggled with trust.
The Game is not heavily into the professional football part of the story. The draw is the relationships both old and new. The plot is a steamy romance with a charming and giving couple. The intrigue that begins to develop is what keeps me turning the pages. The plot twist and the resolution of the conflict is done well.
There hasn’t been a Vi Keeland book I have read that I haven’t liked, and THE BOSS PROJECT is another one to add to my favorites.
Evie is one of those heroines without a filter yet she never has an unkind thing to say. Merrick is hot with a capital H. He pulls off the suggestive statement with a boyish charm, but is clearly all man.
So they both have pasts dogging them that make up some of the background. All I am going to say about that is something so tragic was done so well in this story. There really isn’t much angst between the two, but parts of this story really pulled at my heartstrings. And yes, it made me cry, dammit.
It seems like you are getting a great grumpy boss/sunshine employee romance, but THE BOSS PROJECT is much, much more than that.
Max is charming, fun and instantly smitten with Georgia. Georgia is smart, dedicated and “sort of” in a relationship. If that isn’t messy enough, the way the meet is superb.
So without saying too much more, this was a really good book. It tugged at all the emotions: humor, love, passion, guilt, grief, and uncertainty. You won’t even notice the time passing as you read.
This is one of those books that is so entertaining both with its emotional highs and lows I’m disappointed that I’ll never again be able to read it for the first time.
All four of the short stories in this collection are perfect for sweet holiday flavor. Their outcomes were fairly predictable and resulted in the HEAs. All featured couples meeting for the first time around the holidays and making that connection at their first meeting.
I liked WELL PLAYED for its humorous moments, steamy moments, and misty-eyed moments. Levi - pro football player and Presley - single mom to Levi’s nephew find themselves in one of those inheritance situations with an old B&B. They were at loggerheads because Levi wanted to sell the place and Presley wanted to fix it up and run it.
So the big elephant in the room is Levi’s brother Tanner (Presley’s ex-fiancé). He decides he wants Presley back and she’s moved on with his brother.
I really liked the characters, the story and the romance between Levi and Presley. I was annoyed with Levi’s mother. This is one of those stories made complicated because in the course of holding one’s tongue to spare someone’s feelings, many other people end up miserable. This was certainly a story that deserved its HEA.
This is such a great story. The plot twists are masterful and the characters so perfectly crafted that one can’t put the book down.
I laughed, I cried and I was all in from the first letter young Birdie writes to Santa at Sadie’s column asking for a special friend for her dad, Sebastian. From there, a truly unique story unfolds with passionate undercurrents and a family still dealing with their feelings from a loss.

I liked a lot of things about this book but what I liked most was how romantic a guy who came off as being tough and uncompromising he seemed to be as a top white collar crime defense attorney.
Both Donovan and Autumn had so much going on under the surface that made them the way they are. We can sense there is something deep that is responsible for all her life choices the past few years, but will she ever trust Donovan and us to reveal it?
So this is a lawyer romance who has a client that has Autumn as his social worker. There is so much going on with Autumn’s dating, her father, and her need to binge The Bachelor with her best friend, but Donovan never gives up on her and we can’t put the book down until it’s finished.
This was a different book for me to read and somewhat of a departure for Ward and Keeland. First, it was the world’s slowest burn slow burn novel. Second, there was a little too much attention by Declan and Molly to others outside their relationship. This drove the majority of the drama in their relationship, but for me personally, I like jealousy that is not warranted. The attention Declan and Molly gave to Julia and Will was uncomfortable for me.
It didn’t stop me from reading a really good book that dealt with some emotional issues with great sensitivity from Molly’s dad to Declan’s mom. I also adored Declan and had to know how things worked out for him and how he managed his issues including his feeling for Molly.
NOT PRETENDING ANYMORE was not among my favorite Keeland/Ward novels but it is every bit the quality of novel this talented duo are known for.
I was completely captivated by Stella and Hudson’s story. This is not a book to pass up. Stella is a unique character in that she is sassy, yet vulnerable and who doesn’t recognize the value of her own uniqueness.
Hudson is such a doting father, intelligent resourceful man, and pretty darn handsome. It’s so fitting he recognized right away he needed Stella’s soul to light up his life.
As a story, I was so drawn to Stella’s hobby because she is the ultimate romantic and it fit so well with her unique personality. The book was so well written and the intricate plot unfolded with an artful use of very brief, well placed flashbacks. The unique plot twists that we feared we were going to stumble upon looked more and more likely.
The passion between the two characters was such that we felt their joy and also their despair. It was really a fantastic read. I hated that it ended, but loved how it ended.
This was a fun novella about Riley Kennedy going home for Christmas and Kennedy Riley posing as her fake boyfriend. Then they both go to Kennedy’s brother’s wedding as a fake coupe before the New Year.
It’s a clever idea to begin with since their communications start with mixed up emails. As they get to know one another, they start to see what is behind the other person’s caution and sadness.
This is a good holiday diversion that won’t take up a lot of your time. Read it.
