ONE NIGHT ONLY is an impressive rom-com that has so much going on one can’t put it down. What drew me to the story originally was the idea of two from a one night stand meeting again unexpectedly.
But that doesn’t begin to capture what is so compelling about this story. You wouldn’t guess Sarah is the kind of woman that couldn’t get the guy out her apartment fast enough the next morning to get to her job at an architecture firm that she didn’t want to put a lot of effort into. Or that Declan seemed to be broody and aimless after trying so hard not to get kicked out of her apartment.
So with each character there are their secrets and pieces of baggage - some shared freely and others you will never guess until you read them. And the question is, when everything comes tumbling down at once, what will be left of Declan and Sarah?
The story is told from Sarah’s POV so you experience all the cleverly written emotions with her. Walsh created primary and secondary characters that were memorable. I especially liked Will, so keep your eye on him while reading this very good story.
