Every trip to Benevolence feels slightly different and Linc and Mackenzie’s story was no exception. I loved Linc’s story. He tickled the ovaries not only for his hotness, his dirty talk, his protectiveness, his heroism, but also for his way with kids, dogs and probably even little old ladies.
Mackenzie was written just the way she made me feel - like she was closed off, hard, all business. As a reader, she was hard to like - and that’s how she saw herself, too. What good writing it was to make the reader warm up to her as the people of Benevolence were doing the same thing. She turned out to be an incredible woman that finally trusted her worth.
This book will lead you through the full range of your emotions - it has so many funny moments, and moments in which you will feel the tears like everyone in Benevolence. I don’t know if this is the last book from this little town, but I loved them all.
