Olivia Hayle writes an awesome book with some of the best sophisticated, witty banter between Cole and Skye that I’ve read in a long time. The dialogue doesn’t just go for the cheap laughs. The skill needed to keep these two exchanging verbal love taps and snarky hijinks at a consistent level must be noted.
The story involving saving the bookstore is a solid backdrop for Skye’s need to believe she’s keeping Cole in the “frenemy” zone while trying to control her destiny. Cole’s true colors as a genuinely good, caring man out in an appearance relatively quickly. He has such good advice for Skye and she’s smart enough to take it. It doesn’t hurt the story at all the way the two burn up the sheets and find resistance to future encounters futile.
I really enjoyed this book finding it very easy to identify with Skye and imagine how easy it would be to become smitten with someone like Cole but still needed to keep the eyes on the prize. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this book and would definitely add this author to my list of favorites.
