In this single mom holiday romance, Sophie Brooks had me hooked the moment CEO Mason met the 8 year old Parker when they were both out Christmas shopping for their mothers. From that point on Mason came up with one heartfelt moment after another in his efforts to get to know Callie and her son.
Callie was a single mom struggling with child care, working two jobs, and being everything to Parker. She hadn’t thought of herself since he was born, so Mason’s attentions caused conflicting emotions. She was attracted to him but, she loved how he treated her son, but she didn’t want to take advantage of his generous nature.
There is a little bit of steam to this story but to me it felt right between them and as an important point in the story. This is not a fantasy-sweet type of story, but one that feels real, hopeful and uplifting.
