THE ITALIAN OBSESSION is dark, obsessive alpha romance on steroids and I’ll admit it is an acquired taste and that I enjoyed reading it. By virtue of the fact that our hero is a possessive, stalking killer and mob boss, this is not going to be your vanilla romance with everyone making good decisions and having a clear understanding of right and wrong. It’s ok, it’s just a story.
Tino at least was consistent in his over the top obsession. Angelina really kept the crazy going by being so inconsistent. It was like there were three men she couldn’t make her mind up over hating or loving - and if you kept going a few more pages, she’d change her mind yet again.
The story have some mafia elements like arranged marriage, bodyguards, wedding gunfights, family “honor”, kidnappings and random killings. The passionate scenes were steamy and covered some proclivities we don’t read about very often further pushing the envelope of darkness making this book a stand out in the genre.
