Let’s be honest and admit none of us are expecting to read the next War and Peace when sitting down for a little Christmas cheer, so according to its counterparts in the genre, this book is a standout.
The story is a routine fake fiancé trope but the writing is so good. One thing I hate in a romance is the flash backs. Since our couple is fake engaged for a year, Julie Kriss cleverly marches us through the high points of that year the betrothed are apart with a series of email exchanges that are funny and creative. It’s all uphill from that point on.
I’ve read a lot of Christmas romances over the years and this will go down as one of my favorites.
