Brick by Lisa Lang Blakeney

A member of the Nighthawks, BRICK’s story takes place during the off season.  He returns to his home town to stand up in his best friend’s wedding, seeing Kayla for the first time in 10 years.

The story has ex-partner complications, keeping a secret from family, and Brick’s need to keep a low profile for PR reasons.  Kaya feels torn in her loyalty to her brother, her attraction to Brick, and her inability to trust her own worth.

I would have liked a little more football and team connection, but BRICK is a good story on its own, too.

I received an advance copy of this book from the author and this is a voluntary review.
