The story begins with Carley having ended the engagement with her long time fiancé after discover he cheated. She is heading back home from Chicago to Tennessee for Christmas.
I love the small town flavor of this story. Casey, who has lived there all his life, takes the gossip in stride seeming to have a system for figuring out how much of what is said is true. Casey is a man people can and do depend on. He takes care of the citizens that need it. He’s now on his own on his dairy farm.
Carley and Casey had a thing one Christmas years ago. Afterwards Carley left without ever speaking to Casey again. Neither knew what the other had been thinking.
This kind of second chance love story is my favorite - one person has known all along they have been in love with other, and the other comes to realize it. The chemistry and passion between Carley and Casey is steamy. You’ll have to read the story to find out their bumpy road to an HEA.
